Goodness, the flu is bad!! We've had several teachers and students out and it's beginning to take a toll on some campus staff. Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that I remain healthy... and that those around me heal quickly.
I've been sitting in ELA PLCs and I feel like I'm making decent progress with the 8th grade team. They are asking questions, exploring new resources, and embracing suggestions. I offered to assist with creating a Forms assessment, based on STAAR questions, and they eagerly accepted. Just a little kick-start.
The 7th grade team is nice, and I've observed that two of the five team members are very tech savvy; willing to share their knowledge and resources with the team. One teacher has the tech knowledge, but is very scattered and does not share... one of my personal goals is to get this teacher to upload resources to the team drive. Two other team members are weak in technology. One is on the fence and I can tell they want to jump over, but is scared... another personal goal of mine... to get this teacher to embrace the resources at hand and let go of their thumb drive. ;) The last teacher will be considered a success in my book if I can assist them with using Classroom regularly and to not feel so intimidated by technology in general. Baby steps.
It's a fun challenge to have such a wide range of ability levels on your caseload this cycle. I'm glad you have a few who are strong in tech because I'm sure they can take what you give them and run with it. (I always think, the student has surpassed the teacher...)
